We live in Virginia Beach and I'll be on the Blue Ridge next weekend. Our Appalachian Trail Club (Tidewater) maintains from Tye River Rt 56 to Reeds Gap and I'll be at the Trail Club's cabin. Like to know if I can bring you supplies or such, or when you'll be to our section Harpers Creek and Maupin Field Shelters. Happy hiking, Marilyn (Hilary's grandmother) Seth!

Interstate 56 is at the Tye River which has a long swinging bridge. It is after you have descended the Priest mountain (lucky you don't have to climb up it!) Also, before the Priest, you don't wnat to miss Spy Rock! (A great lookout just a few feet off the trail.) Our Club owns a primitive stone cabin (sleeps 12) 4 miles S. of Reed's Gap, and I can still hike into there, usually with all my family, including grandkids who love the hiking. What a hunk! Hope you have the time of your life doing what you've been wanting to for so long. I am leaving this morning for Alexandria to have Lumbar Fusion. Have not been on this thing for at least a month as I have been sewing curtains for Pat. Had yesterday to get the house in order as I had thread everywhere. Hope to follow your adventure when I get home and recuperate (and when I get waited on). Have the time of your life. It passes too quickly and you find you are 73.
