I’m sitting in the Anchorage airport waiting for my flight to Seattle and then Chicago to meet up with Perdita. I’m relieved to finally be on my way. Closing up shop up here took forever. I’ve still got some work to do on my school finals.
For now though we’re going to visit an old family friend, more of a second grandmother on our mom’s side. Mickey has been my biggest cheerleader forever and it will be amazing to see her again. Unfortunately we only get a bit under a day with her.
From Chicago we’ll head to Sioux Falls where our dad will pick us up and drive us to our grandparents on his side. We’ll spend three and a half days there where we’ve had the last minute gear orders and food shipped and we’ll pack all that into our packs and drop boxes for our dad to send. It’s always fun to visit the Minnesota branch of the family.
From there it’s back to Sioux Falls at 3am for our flight to San Diego and the start of the PCT with a great kick off at ADZPCTKO, the Annual Day Zero Pacific Crest Trail Kick Off. I’m exceedingly excited.
It’s time to board so Auf Wiedersehen for now!
